Livia Isabella Schubiger is an Assistant Professor in Comparative Politic at LSE's Department of Government. She is currently engaged in several research projects on political and criminal violence, contentious collective action, and the implications of armed conflict and state repression in Latin America. Working mostly on Colombia, Peru, and Mexico, her research focuses on issues such as civilian support for criminal and political armed groups, ethno-environmental protest against mining activities, the implications of armed conflict for state-building and democracy, as well as civilian mobilization and local governance in the context of political violence, state repression, and organized crime.
