I am an MPA in International Development student from Nigeria. Prior to joining LSE, I studied a BSc in Economics at the University of Nottingham. During this time I held internship positions at Deloitte and State Accountability and Voice Initiative, a UK-DFID programme. I enrolled on the MPA because I wanted a deeper understanding of economics that will allow me to be able to make development-enhancing policies in Nigeria and abroad. Indeed, I am so impressed as the MPA curriculum has given me a quantitative and rigorous training in economics and politics.
In the past year, I have been able to gain a global perspective on development from my excellent professors as well as my wonderful classmates, all of whom share the common goal of wanting to make a significant impact upon the world. For me, the best part of the course has been learning econometrics in a practical way, as well as presenting policy proposals in the Development In Practice seminars. I am already looking forward to starting my Capstone project next year- it will be a truly rewarding challenge!
Finally, London; the city that never sleeps! Living here has enabled me to get out of my comfort zone. There’s a never-ending list of shops and restaurants to go to and the attractions are amazing! I am so glad that I get to explore this city for 2 years.
