Before joining the MPA I worked for a year as a Junior Adviser to the Moldovan Ministry of Economy. In my role, I quickly found that I needed to undertake a programme which would bridge the theoretical understanding of public policy, which I had acquired during my undergraduate studies in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford, and real-world policy-making in developing countries.
I enjoy the MPA's combination of rigorous analysis and group work on focused policy issues, as well as the quantitative methods course, designed specifically for public policy analysis. The other students on the MPA are a very international, interesting, and friendly group, and I have enjoyed meeting so many other people who are passionate about development. The MPA also has a lively student association, and there are student clubs at LSE to suit the most eccentric interests. That, along with the public lectures from the likes of Amartya Sen and Jeffrey Sachs make the IPA a great place to study. I look forward to the rest of my time here exploring the intellectual riches of LSE and the many fun activities that London has to offer.
