Jamil Barton is the MPASA Social Coordinator and keeps the MPA programme, well... social. The Social Committee organise 2-3 events per term that allow MPAers to close the books, spend time with one another off-campus, and build the relationships that they carry for years to come. Some events include Food Crawls, retreats to sites outside of London, Holiday themed events and a Boat Party on the Thames. The priority is to get to know London, and each other.
After University, Jamil worked in Consulting for two years and on the 2008 Obama Campaign. Since 2009, he has worked across Latin America with NGOs on projects focused on poverty alleviation and social entrepreneurship. He dances Cumbia, enjoys photography, has a knack for rock-paper-scissors and hates selfies. He is originally from Buffalo, NY.
