Samir currently works in the field of Research and Policy Communications for The MasterCard Foundation, one of the world's largest private foundations. He oversees the development and dissemination of knowledge and policy documents related to the Foundation’s work in education, skills training, and financial inclusion. Originally trained as a journalist at Carleton University in Canada, he has led a varied career in the public, private and non-profit sector, and has worked in fields ranging from public opinion research to public consultation and facilitation to freelance journalism. For a brief period, he was also a touring musician. Samir is interested in the frontiers of public policy development, particularly development cooperation, income inequality, economic empowerment, and improving global governance.
