Monika is a Tax Administrator working for the Income Tax Department in the Ministry Of Finance for the Government of India. Over the last decade, she has been responsible not only for collecting taxes and augmenting revenue collection but has also worked in policy areas with respect to borrowing and lending from Multilateral Institutions like World Bank and Asian Development Bank. She grapples with policy issues in a country where immense diversity coupled with glaring disparities poses challenges that have no easy answers. Her interest in public policy arises from the need to understand how public resources can be judiciously settled or distributed among competing claims. She currently stays in London with her toddler twins and her husband who is a diplomat in the Indian High Commission.
