Senior Attorney
Inter-American Court of Human Rights
Mariana has worked at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, based in San Jose, Costa Rica, since 2010, where she currently holds a position as Senior Attorney. She graduated as a lawyer from Universidad Católica Andres Bello (UCAB) in Caracas, Venezuela and was awarded an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge in the UK. Before taking a position at the Court, Mariana worked as a Field Office Lawyer for the Jesuit Refugee Service in Venezuela (JRS- Venezuela), as well as other non-governmental human rights organisations in Venezuela. She also has experience teaching various courses and seminars on human rights issues, particularly in relation to the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Human Rights System.
