Jihane consults for the AfDB’s financial sector development department providing policy and strategic advice to the Director while supporting the daily management of the department’s activities. She is equally in charge of setting-up and designing a Technical Assistance fund for financial sector development in Africa. Jihane previously worked for three year at the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Luxembourg where her latest assignment was to design and implement a regional technical assistance program aimed at reinforcing the innovation capacities of EIB’s Mediterranean Partner Countries.
Jihane believes in the power of entrepreneurship as a tool to create jobs, educate people, and bring long-term social and economic benefits. She has a particular interest in public policies related to small business development, innovation, and innovation enabling infrastructures. She particularly values the time spent in a grassroots incubator co-managing its start-up phase, as well as the learning gained while starting-up a company specialized in designing tailored industry-specific seminars.
Jihane holds an MA in Development Economics and a BA in Political Sciences. She is Moroccan and currently lives between Ivory Coast and Luxembourg.
