Sam is an Australian working for NERA Economic Consulting in London after recently transferring from the Sydney office. His expertise includes energy policy and regulation, renewable energy and the use of allocation mechanisms in policy implementation. He currently works in NERA’s auctions practice where he is involved in advising regulators and bidders across Europe on the design and participation in high value auctions, such as for radiofrequency spectrum licenses and electricity transmission capacity rights. While working in Australia he was involved in advising government and industry on policy, regulation and competition issues in the energy sector. He has produced multiple peer-reviewed publications on energy policy in Australia and presented globally on his work. Prior to joining NERA Sam was a researcher at UNSW and worked for an engineering firm in their sustainability group.
