After graduating in Journalism at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), Hamza studied Economics and International Politics at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) and began his professional career as a Journalist, accredited to the EU. After a couple of years, he jumped into the political field, and joined the Belgian political party "Democrat and Humanist Centre" (cdH), as advisor, member of the presidential staff.  He ran for local elections in 2006 and was elected for a five year term as Deputy Mayor of the City of Brussels, in charge of Population, Culture, Employment and Training.  Hamza was also elected as Member of the Brussels Parliament in 2007, and still sits in it today. He chaired the French-speaking Parliament of Brussels for the last year and a half and now leads his party group there.  During these years, Hamza assumed diverse responsibilities within public agencies in the fields of Labour, Training, Economy and Culture.
