Social-Economic Advisor
BP Caspian (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey)
Vusal comes from Azerbaijan and has extensive experience in international development, democratization and conflict analysis. He is currently serving as Social-Economic Development Advisor for the BP Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region operation. He advises the regional operations of BP on issues related to social and economic development, and acts as a focal point on non-technical risks. Prior to BP, Vusal was a Political Advisor and Democratisation Officer for seven years at the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Baku, Azerbaijan. While at OSCE, he led projects addressing policy dialogue, elections and democratic governance. In March to April 2014, Vusal was involved in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission’s Advance team to Ukraine, contributing to the development and implementation of the OSCE’s responses to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Vusal has worked in various missions in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Balkans and Ukraine. Vusal possesses a master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, and has been extensively trained in project management. His interests lie in economic policy analysis and economic for international development.
