Chief Executive
AFRUCA
Debbie has 12 years experience in the UK Civil Service working in different government departments across policy fields. Now as a social entrepreneur, she is the founder and child executive of a children's charity since 2001. She leads the charity's work to promote the rights and welfare of children nationally and internationally with other NGOs, government agencies and international organisations in the development of programmes and policies to aid children's welfare. Debbie is responsible to designing and implementing a range of community child protection programmes to aid the protection and safeguarding of children from harmful cultural practices in the UK. As a growing charity, her role is to oversee the strategic growth and development of the charity, and work with others to implement the strategic and business plan. Since the charity’s work is closely aligned with public policy on children and families, Debbie’s role includes policy influencing to ensure the interests of their clients are met by government and its agencies.
