Munk School – SIS – LSE IDEAS Conference 'US Foreign Policy in International Perspective'

On Tuesday 12th November 2013, LSE IDEAS USIAP hosted a conference in partnership with the Munk School of Global Affairs and the American University School of International Service (SIS). The conference was titled ‘US Foreign Policy in International Perspective’.

Participants from around the world converged on the LSE for a day-long set of intensive panel discussions. The conference was designed to tap the considerable amount of expertise on the United States that exists outside the United States itself. The intention was to assess the character, strengths and weaknesses of U.S. thinking and behavior in the international arena in the early 21st century.

This conference was linked to a broader multinational research project dealing with "United States Foreign Policy in International Perspective." The project coordinators are Jim Goldgeier (School of International Service at American University/Washington, D.C.) and Ron Pruessen (Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto). Professor Michael Cox, acted as coordinator for the European branch of the project.
