Veneta T. Ivanova

Veneta-PicVeneta T. Ivanova was the is the Mladena and Dianko Sotirov Fellow for the academic year of 2013 - 2014.

She is currently completing her PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her doctoral thesis, supervised by Professor Maria Todorova, is entitled "Communism with an Occult Face: Culture, Science and Spirituality in Late Socialist Bulgaria".

In 2011 - 2012 she was a research fellow at the American Research Centre (ARCS) in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Veneta holds a MA in History from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a BA in Political Science from the Univesity of La Verne in Athens, Greece. She is fluent in Bulgarian, Greek and Russian.
