Professor James Siekmeier is a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE IDEAS.
Professor Siekmeier received his PhD in History from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA in 1993, specializing in the history of U.S. foreign relations. He has taught at colleges and universities in Washington, D.C.; Iowa, Texas, and in Bolivia. He has published articles in Diplomatic History, Pacific Historical Review, and the Latin Americanist. He published The Bolivian Revolution and the United States, 1952-Present (Penn State University Press), in 2011.
He is currently working on a manuscript on Latin American nationalism and globalization. He is an Associate Professor of History at West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, USA, where he has taught since 2007.
