IDPP policy initiatives work side by side with governments around the world advising on the development of evidence based drug policy reforms.
By engaging in academic debates, IDPP is driving local policy discussions and ensuring our research is discussed at all levels of policy formation, from students and the general public to politicians and civil servants.
The IDPP has developed strong links with Uniandes, The University of los Andes in Bogotá, to work on the issues of drug production and the Peace Process.

IDPP has been engaged with current Irish Minister with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy, Aodhán O’Ríordáin, on evidence based drug policy reforms.
The Irish government has announced plans to create a safe injection site in Dublin, which evidence shows reduces harm and deaths from heroin use. The minister announced his support at the Shifting Drug Strategies in the UK and Ireland Policy Planning Workshop.
