Joint event with LSE Department of International History

Forty years ago, a British politician was appointed President of the European Commission. This lecture explores what Jenkins' tenure reveals about the nature of the job and the history of Britain in Europe.

  • Piers Ludlow, Associate Professor at the LSE. His research focuses on the history of the European integration process and of Britain’s troubled relationship with it.
  • Chair: Janet Hartley, Professor of International History and Head of the Department of International History at LSE.
