The seminar of how the Swedish authorities handled Soviet and Baltic refugees between 1945 and 1960 – a period when the Soviet Union regularly exerted pressure on Sweden regarding this sensitive issue.
Speakers
Cecilia Notini-Burch is a PhD Candidate at the History Department of Stockholm University and currently a visiting research student at LSE IDEAS. Her main academic interests lie within the fields of political history and Cold War ideology.
Arne Westad is Co-director of LSE IDEAS and Professor of International History at LSE.
