Dr Katie Steele

Katie is a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, and member of the LSE Choice Group.

Katie is interested in climate modelling and associated policy decisions from a methodological perspective: the logic underlying confirmation of climate hypotheses, the representation of uncertainty associated with climate hypotheses, and the logic of decision under different ‘types’ of uncertainty.

Background

Katie has a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Sydney, 2007. She was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in philosophy at the University of Sydney (2007 to 2008). She started at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2008.

• Rational choice (especially decision theory);
• Modelling belief and inference;
• Scientific method;
• Applied (particularly environmental) decision making.
