LSE Chill

Hosted by LSE Arts

Café 54, New Academic Building

Join us for our February LSE Chill of the Lent term! Come along and enjoy a night of live music with free drinks and snacks while they last.

The line-up will be as follows:

Maitrayee Das-Mazumdar
Maitrayee Das Majumdar is currently pursing her Masters in Psychology of Economic Life. She is that girl who still believes her Hogwarts letter will arrive soon and she uses leaves as bookmarks.

Magical Mundane, A Poetry Slam.
It's a recitation piece about a late night escapade

Gaia Ginevra
Gaia started playing the ukulele last year in May during exam season (probably worst time to pick up a new hobby!)  but found out it was a great way to destress herself and really enjoyed it. She loves jamming with other people and mainly does covers of contemporary songs.

Misha Seong
Inspired by Korean indie and hip-hop artists, Misha wanted to become a rapper earlier on in his life, but he is now doing MSc Economics at LSE as that career path did not work out. These days Misha mostly writes indie songs about heartbreaks, some of which he will perform at LSE Chill.

Nivedita Venkatesh
A British singer-songwriter from West London, Pocahontas performs a variety of genres including R&B with significant elements of Soul and Hip-Hop, as well as Trap Soul. Pocahontas takes inspiration from many artists including Tank, Jhené Aiko and August Alsina.

Arushi Jain and Havishyan Thakral

Jacob Zhang
Jacob has been living in China until three years ago when he came to study in the UK. He has met a lot of amazing friends in this new country, and one of our greatest connections has been music. In fact, little of our musical tastes are similar, but it is this huge difference in musical culture that fascinates us and arouses our curiosity about each other. He hopes, by performing with his Guzheng today, he will bring you into the world of Chinese music and fascinate you with our traditional tunes.

Just economics and politics? Think again.  While LSE does not teach arts or music, there is a vibrant cultural side to the School - from weekly free music concerts in the Shaw Library, and an LSE orchestra and choir with their own professional conductors, various film, art and photographic student societies, the annual LSE photo prize competition, the LSE Festival and artist-in-residence projects. For more information please view the LSE Arts website.

From time to time there are changes to event details so we strongly recommend that if you plan to attend this event you check back on this listing on the day of the event.
