Lukasz Hardt

Mr. Hardt spent five weeks at the CPNSS in May/June 2012. His research was focused on modeling in economics, including issues of the status of laws in economics as well as the relation of models to the economic  reality. Since his interest is also in scientific realism, he consulted his ideas with prof. N. Cartwright. Also, he discussed his research with Prof. R. Frigg. His stay at the LSE was financed by a research grant from the National Science Center of Poland. His research at the LSE contributed to the preparation of his book, published recently in Polish, its title can be translated into English as "Studies in the Realistic Philosophy of Economics". That book forms the basis for Mr. Hardt's habilitation procedure. Mr. Hardt presented his LSE research results at the 2012 annual conference of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy in Cracow, Poland.
