Liu Liu

Bio:  Liu Liu is a PhD student in Public Management at the Bei Hang University, China and a Visiting Research Student in CPNSS at the LSE. Her primary research interest is in the philosophy of science and ethics of decision making. And she has published papers on S&T policy system, research method and scholars participate in decision making. Her current work focuses on genetically modified crops industrialization and public decision-making ethical issues.

Project Title:  The Analysis on Public Decision-making Ethical Issues in Genetically Modified Crops Industrialization.
 
Project Description:  The dispute issues of industrialization of genetically modified (GM) crops in public decision-making focus on knowledge cognition, interest distribution, process these three problems. And these issues contain the value of integrity, fairness and justice. Cognition integrity involves truthfully informing the risk of GM crops industrialization that is a problem of facts and value choice. Fairness is mainly about the issues of interest distribution and risk sharing. Process justice is on the rationality of public decision-making goals and measure. And all these fundamental problems need to be further discussed.
The research is funded by Bei Hang University, China.
