Peter Achinstein received his B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard. He is a professor of philosophy at Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of 7 books in the philosophy of science, the most recent being "Evidence and Method: Scientific Strategies of Isaac Newton and James Clerk Maxwell," published in 2013.
