Project Title: Analysis of future Japanese Nuclear Policy making after the Tohoku Earthquake
Project Description: Japan has come to a very important crossroads in energy policy after the Tohoku Earthquake and the nuclear accidents that followed. If policy were to change, what would it look like, and by what kind of process would it be agreed? What role should public opinion play in the role of policy making? These questions have been discussed at a theoretical level in Social Choice Theory. The aim of my research project is to apply the theoretical insights of Social Choice Theory to the concrete question of decision making about the future Japanese Nuclear Policy.
