Project leader: Philippe Fontaine, ENS Cachan and LSE
Duration of the Project: 2015 - 2018
The aim of the project is to explore the possibility of a history of the social sciences as a whole. In so doing it is expected that more attention will be paid to interdisciplinary interactions and common problems.
The project is supported by the European Scientific Coordination Network (GDRI, CNRS). It brings together scholars from different countries to work on the history of the recent social sciences through organising workshops at LSE, Duke University, École normale supérieure de Cachan, Columbia University and NYU. From 2011 to 2014, the project was funded by GDRE CNRS n° 711 (P. Fontaine). From January 2007 to December 2010, it was funded under the Leverhulme Trust's International Networks scheme (R. Backhouse).
The LSE workshops are organized by Roger Backhouse and Philippe Fontaine.
