Sebastiano Bavetta is Professor of Economics at the University of Palermo (Italy) and Research Associate at the London School of Economics. He has a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Philosophy from the LSE. His interests focus on issues at the boundary between economics and philosophy and, in particular, on individual freedom and the functioning of democracy. He is now working on the impact of freedom of choice on the welfare state and, in general, on policy and institutional design.
