On 11 August 2016 a high level delegation from Tsinghua University (THU) visited CIBL and the LSE. The delegates included Prof SHI Zongkai, Vice Chairperson of University Council, Dr BING Hao, Vice director of Students' Affairs Office, Mr ZHANG Jian, Assistant Dean for Global Partnerships, International Office, Ms LI Xiling, Program Manager, Global Partnerships, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and student representatives.
The delegates were welcomed to the CIBL offices by Dr Neil McLean, CIBL UK Director, before being taken on a tour of the LSE campus. After this the delegation enjoyed a business lunch with senior members of the CIBL, Language Centre and LSE management team. The meal was followed by an official meeting with Prof. Paul Kelly, Pro-director for Education, LSE, in which the delegates discussed further university level cooperation. The visit was concluded with a meeting with Hannah Bannister, Head of LSE Student Services, to discuss how these services are provided in the UK.
The visit was a great success and the offered a wonderful chance for the bonds between LSE and THU to maintained and enhanced. CIBL is honoured to act a bridge between these two world class institutions.
