To celebrate 2016 Chinese New Year, Confucius Institute for Business London and J.P. Morgan held a series of celebratory events. On 16 and 22 February 2016, Chinese New Year cultural experience events were co-hosted by the Confucius Institute for Business London, CIBL, and J.P. Morgan Asian Development Society at the European headquarters of J.P. Morgan in Canary Wharf and Embankment respectively. With more than 100 staff participating, the event demonstrated Chinese New Year culture such as traditional arts including calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting and Chinese knots. Vincent Hakyemez, who works at J.P. Morgan and learns Mandarin at CIBL, joined the CIBL team to share with his colleagues his own experience of Mandarin learning and Chinese culture. A series of courses and programmes including the Tsinghua Summer Camp and public lectures organised by CIBL also attracted many people who expressed their interest to further understand Chinese culture.
