30 January 2015, "Navigating Complexity"—the China Development Forum, was successfully held by the LSE China Development Society in the New Academic Building, LSE. The forum was co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute for Business London, CIBL.
This year’s Forum focused on climate and energy and covered institutional reasons for China’s slowing down, the abolishment of the one-child policy, questioning ‘one country two systems’ and so on. Almost 20 distinguished scholars and experts spoke at the one-day China Development Forum 2016, and exchanged views with the participants on the above-mentioned issues.
The forum featured keynote speakers including Prof. Danny Quah, Prof. Athar Hussain, Mr. Stephen Perry, Chairman of the 48 Group Club, and was attended by a large audience of over 500 LSE students, graduates, scholars, academics and interested people from London.
The Chinese Development Forum was a great success and received very positive feedback from those that attended. It provided a platform for world-renowned scholars to bring awareness about current developments in modern China to an eager audience.
