From 9th to 11th September, Confucius Institute for Business London organised and hosted a three-day Business Chinese Teacher Training Programme for enriching and exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of Teaching Business Chinese. The Programme encompassed a series of seminars and activities that helped attendees realise the mission and goals of the dynamic situations of Teaching Business Chinese, and equip with necessary practical skills and soft skills to lead and arrange their future teaching programmes and classes. A total of 21 front-line teachers participated the training programme.
Minister Councilor Wang Yongli welcomed the trainers and teachers and gave opening remarks to kick off the Training Programme. Practical workshops covered such diversified topics as course management, marketing skills, basic theories of Second Language Teaching, Language Testing, Curriculum Design, communication skills, and practical teaching demos. All of these were conducted via trainers’ insightful presenting and interactive Q&A, and all the attendees were grouped into five groups with a certain working mission, they need to work with each other through all three days on this project. Trainers and teachers could also learn from each other, especially as experienced teachers would share their personal experiences and strategies to other less experienced attendees.
The programme ended on a high note on the last day with team report and teaching demo in various proposed projects. Attendees presented their remarkable business plans and teaching demos in the last session. After the entire programme, Dr. Hong Lu, OBE the Coordinator of CIBL granted the certificates of programme to the attendees.
