On 11 October 2016, Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) held a celebration for Dr Hong Lu to celebrate her promotion from CIBL coordinator to deputy director. Dr Lu has been a key member of the CIBL team since it was founded in 2005 and has worked tirelessly to make CIBL stronger and better. When CIBL began, there was only one member of staff: Dr Lu. Dr Lu undertook all the work in CIBL and grew the institute until now, in 2016, CIBL has become a model Confucius institute with a staff of 16, language classes in prestigious London based companies and over 30 high level events every year.
In order to recognise these achievements the CIBL staff, including Dr Neil Mclean (CIBL UK director) arranged a party to congratulate Dr Lu. Craig Meegan (CIBL Office Manager) gave a presentation to show CIBL’s development and Dr Lu thanked everyone for the preparation of the party which was then concluded with a cake and refreshments.
