On 16 June 2016, Prof Danny Quah was invited to the CIBL office to say goodbye to his colleagues at CIBL as he prepares to move on from the LSE. A party was held in the CIBL office in honour of his efforts in helping the development of CIBL over the past 10 years. Professor Quah is an outstanding academic in the field of Economics and International Development and has been nominated for the Nobel Prize. At 12:00, Professor Quah arrived at CIBL office and presented CIBL with a farewell calligraphy gift. After that, Professor Quah had happy lunch with CIBL staff. At the end of the farewell party, Dr Lu presented a card to Danny which was signed with the best wishes of the CIBL team. Professor Quah has been key to CIBL’s development, winning the Confucius Institutes Headquarters “Individual excellence” award in 2012 and being an important member of the CIBL Steering Group for the last 10 years.
