
On 9 February 2014, the Chinese New Year Gala, LSE, was successfully hosted by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), LSE and sponsored by the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) in the Old Building of London School of Economics and Political Science. The event was a great success and more than 500 LSE Chinese students attended the gala. Mr.Jiang Zhengwang and Mr. Wang Zeyu, first and second secretary from Education Section of Chinese Embassy respectively, Mr. Liu Ze from the Chinese Students Association, UK, and Prof. LUO Lisheng, China director of Confucius Institute for Business London were present and expressed their best wishes to all for the Spring Festival.
As an annual event run by CSSA, the New Year Gala has brought happiness and joy to Chinese students who are studying at LSE thousands miles away from their homes. This year’s gala consisted of various performances from LSE students. The Peking opera performed by CIBL Tsinghua intern YU Lu and Xinjiang dancing led by another CIBL Tsinghua intern Yan Xingye brought brilliant lustre to the gala and won huge applause from the audience.
