From the 5-7 December 2015, the 10th Confucius Institute Conference was held in the World Expo Centre, Shanghai, China. The conference was attended by over 3000 delegates representing Confucius Institutes, CIs, and their respective host and partner universities from over 130 countries around the world.
The conference was attended by the CIBL management team which included Prof. Paul Kelly, Pro Director of LSE and Chair of the CIBL Steering Group, Nick Byrne, Head of the LSE Language Centre and CIBL UK Director, Dr. Hong Lu, CIBL Coordinator and Craig Meegan, CIBL Office Manager.
On the 6 Dec. 2015, after the opening ceremony in which Prof. Kelly accepted the “Model Confucius Institute Award” on behalf of CIBL, Nick Byrne gave a presentation at the Directors’ Forum on the topic of Building a More Creative Brand of “Confucius Institute Day”. The following day, the 7 Dec. 2015, Prof. Paul Kelly and also gave a talk at the Presidents Forum on Best Practices of Confucius Institutes in Supporting Enterprises. Both talks were very well received and energetic discussions followed both presentations.
The Annual Confucius Institute Conferences are a fantastic opportunity for CIs from around the world to come together and exchange ideas, share best practises and create, renew and establish relationships with partner CIs all around the world.
