On 20 February 2015, the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) successfully held its first ever Chinese culture talk at EDF Energy in London and more than 40 EDF managers participated in the event. EDF is a major energy supply company with a large market in the UK and Europe. Dr. Hong Lu, CIBL coordinator, gave a talk on the Chinese traditional festival -Spring Festival - as well as its history and cultural customs. She also gave them an introduction to the CIBL business Chinese courses, the Tsinghua Summer Chinese Programme, the CIBL business culture talks and the CIBL’s other products. EDF staff members showed their great interest in the Chinese traditional culture and Chinese language, hoping that there will be further cooperation between CIBL and EDF in these two aspects.
