On 19 February 2015 (the first Day of the Chinese lunar new year), a celebration of Chinese Spring Festival was held at Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. More than fifty people from LSE and the local business community attended this event. The event was opened by CIBL student Mr Peter Streggle, HSBC, gave a bi-lingual presentation on the history of the Chinese Spring Festival and its traditional customs and continued with CIBL Tsinghua intern Ms. YU Lu performing the Peking opera song “Xieyaohuan”. The programmes were concluded by CIBL Tsinghua intern Ms. YAN Xingye performing a Xinjiang dance. This event has enabled more people from the local community to know about China and experience a traditional Chinese festival and culture.
