On 23 Sep 2015, Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) held a Chinese language and culture event at Christ College Finchley, which was just approved to be a Confucius Classroom of CIBL in this August. Around 60 students aged from 15 to 17 took part in this event. First of all, CIBL coordinator Dr Hong LU gave all the students a brief introduction about the CIBL as well as about Chinese language and culture. Then the students were divided into two groups, one taking the taster class and the mock Chinese market game while the other taking the Chinese calligraphy class; then the two groups swapped. All the students were deeply attracted by Chinese language and culture and enjoyed themselves as well.
Christ College Finchley has been working with CIBL for a long time and this event provides even more cooperation opportunities for the two parties. It is a good chance for the students to learn some simple but useful Chinese as well as to experience various Chinese culture. Besides, this event is also a part of the CIBL Confucius Day celebration series activities.
