On 22 June 2015, a celebration of the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival was held at the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. More than seventy people from LSE and the local business community attended this event. The event was opened by a speech from CIBL UK director Nick Byrne who welcomed everyone to the event. This was then followed by a speech from CIBL office manager Craig Meegan, who gave a bi-lingual presentation on the history of Chinese Dragon Boat Festival and its traditional customs. After the speeches finished there were performances of Peking opera and a Chinese folk song performed by another CIBL Tsinghua interns Ms. YU Lu and Ms. GUAN Yuchen which were very well received by the guests.
This event has enabled more people from the local community to know about China and experience a traditional Chinese festival and culture.
