On 12 June 2015, Dr Hong Lu of the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) was recognised in the latest list of royal recipients for the Queen’s birthday honours. She has received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her contributions to the Chinese community and for her efforts in promoting China UK relations.
Dr Hong Lu co-ordinates CIBL's activities and is also chair of the CEDP Chinese Centre. In 2014 CIBL was named Confucius Institute of the Year, beating a field of 476 other global Confucius Institutes.
The Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) was established at LSE in 2006 and is one of 25 Confucius Institutes in the UK. The Institute aims to promote Chinese for business to the local community and foster greater understanding of Chinese language and business culture. The order promulgated by the Queen is not only the award towards Dr. Hong LU, but also a positive recognition and great encouragement for CIBL.
