On 5 March 2015, the Chinese New Year Celebration was co-hosted by Barclaycard and the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) for the first time. Dressed in a traditional Chinese costume, Mr. Dave Chan, CEO of Barclaycard Consumer Europe gave a very warm and inspiring speech for the Chinese New Year. CIBL Tsinghua intern YU Lu presented Peking opera and gave a briefing on its history and different roles of Peking Opera characters, which stirred up the great interest of the audience. Ms. Li Man, CIBL Mandarin staff actively promoted CIBL business Chinese courses and culture events. The total of more than 100 Barclaycard staff participated in this event and greatly enjoyed the Peking Opera.
