On 29th October, 2014, Mr. Anthony Thomson, founder and former chairman of Metro Bank came to the School of Economics and Political Science and delivered a public lecture on ‘Why entrepreneurs care about customers and what can be learned by Chinese practice’ at the invitation from Confucius Institute for Business, London. Mr. Thomson first talked about the relationship between entrepreneurs and customers, briefly reviewed the general operation of most banks and finally explained the advantages of a future bank, Atom Bank. He presented the audience with a brand-new picture of future banking. As an experienced financial expert, Mr. Thomson objectively predicated the role of the future bank and the convenient service it would provide to its customers to the great interest of the audience.
The public speech was chaired by Dr. Kent Deng, Associate Director of Confucius Institute for Business London, in the Old Theatre, LSE with a large audience of more than 120 LSE students and staff, scholars and guests from financial and banking circles in London. The speech successfully ended amidst loud applause.
