HSBC Chinese New Year Celebrations

2014HSBC NEW YEAR 1

On the occasion of the Chinese New Year of the Horse, CIBL has supported and helped with five New Year Celebration events at HSBC. These events took place at several different locations, including the HSBC Head Office at Canary Wharf, St. James Street HSBC private bank, HSBC China Town and Panel discussions on China organized by HSBC Global Asset Management in Westbury Hotel London and the final HSBC event in Brussels.   Employees at HSBC celebrated the New Year with a range of activities including Chinese cultural talks, tasters classes, Chinese calligraphy, Taichi, folk dancing, musical recitals performed on traditional Chinese instruments, lion dances, Chinese culture and language course information stalls and a Chinese New Year song performed by local school children. CIBL demonstrated China's traditional culture from all angles and the series of activities provided helped HSBC employees appreciate and gain a greater understanding of Chinese culture. Through the success of these celebrations, the links between CIBL and HSBC were greatly strengthened. The Chairman of HSBC attended most of the activities in person and Charles Haswell hosted most of the key events. Charles is not only the HSBC head of global strategic and China affair and also the deputy chairman of CIBL advisory council.
