On 31 January, 2014 (the first day of first month of Chinese lunar calendar), the Confucius Institute for Business London and Dulwich Confucius Classroom jointly organized a cultural event for the Chinese Spring Festival, in which more than 50 students participated. CIBL’s China Director Prof. Luo Lisheng briefly explained to the students the about China’s traditional festivals and food culture. CIBL teacher volunteers Miss Yue JI and Miss Min RUI demonstrated Chinese calligraphy to the students, and helped them to write a Chinese word “福”, which means “happiness”. Dulwich Vice Principal Ralph Mainard met CIBL staff and expressed his satisfaction with the Confucius Classroom and cooperation with CIBL.
This cultural event enabled Dulwich College students to experience traditional Chinese culture, and acquire a better understanding of the Chinese language and Chinese festivals. Meanwhile, it also helped further strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between CIBL and Dulwich College.
