On 7 and 8 December 2013, the 8th Confucius Institute Conference was held in Beijing. At the conference, Mr. Charles Haswell, Global Head of Financial Sector Policy, HSBC Holdings plc. and Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Confucius Institute for Business London, was awarded the Hanban Confucius Institute's Individual Excellence Award of the Year for his outstanding contribution to the development of CIBL. China vice premier Liu Yandong presented the awards to all the awardees at the opening ceremony.
This award not only praises the excellent performance of Mr. Charles Haswell, but also recognizes the contribution made by CIBL in 2013.
