China Development Forum 2014

With the support of CIBL, the CDF forum “Rebalancing China” was held successfully at LSE on the 8 February 2014. The forum featured world-renowned scholars, entrepreneurs and media representatives including Eric Maskin, former Nobel laureate, Stephen Perry, the Chairman of the 48 Group Club and many others. The forum was attended by almost 800 people, many of whom were LSE students.

The event was hosted by Professor Danny Quah, Kuwait Professor of LSE, and distinguished guests from around the world discussed a variety of topics. These topics included recent Chinese reforms in the fields of media, law and finance, China’s international relations and other areas relating to the Chinese business environment. As the event speakers delivered presentations about China’s development from a wide variety of angles, the guests were able to gain a deeper understanding of the changes China is currently undergoing and the opportunities that these changes bring.

The Chinese Development Forum was a great success and received very positive feedback from those that attended. It provided a platform for world-renowned scholars to bring awareness about current developments in modern China to an eager audience.
