CIBL has been running in-service training programs for its staff in order to provide better teaching and cultural services to the local community in London. These programmes have been running since the beginning of the Lent term and include taiji, voice training, talks on the Analects and English Practical Writing.
CIBL’s Mandarin teacher Dr. Dong provided a taiji course to the CIBL team so that CIBL will be able to better accommodate the increasing demand for such activities at company days and Chinese culture workshops. Ms Sophie Smith has been providing a voice training workshop to teach CIBL staff how to effectively use and protect their voice before and during a class. Hanban teacher volunteer, Mr. Qihan Yang, has made a series of talks on the Chinese Analects, and CIBL Office manager Mr. Craig Meegan provides an English practical writing course to CIBL staff.
CIBL hopes that by running these in-service training programs its staff team will be better to engage in Mandarin teaching and the various cultural events organized by CIBL.
