On 2 June 2014, a joint event was held to celebrate the Chinese Dragon Boat festival and CIBL’s successful move to its new office.
The event began at 12:30 and guests began to arrive and enjoy the traditional Chinese foods, zongzi, steamed buns and dumplings, that were provided. The guests included representatives from the Chinese embassy and various LSE departments.
When everyone had arrived the event was formally opened by UK associate director Dr. Kent Deng, who welcomed everyone to the event. CIBL office manager, Craig Meegan, then made a brief speech thanking all of those at LSE who had made the move possible and carried it out. This was followed a short address by CIBL UK Director Nick Byrne. Finally a wonderful presentation was made by Prof. Luo Lisheng explaining the story behind the festival.
The event was well received by all in attendance and CIBL was very pleased to have been able to formally express its gratitude to its friends and neighbours at LSE.
