Celebration of Confucius Institutes' Tenth Anniversary at PwC

  孔子学院十周年系列活动之走进PwC

On 24 Sep 2014 the Confucius Institute for Business London, CIBL, successfully held a Chinese Business Culture Day at PwC to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Confucius Institutes’. This successful event attracted the attendance of about 100 PwC staff members, from senior management to regular staff members.

The event consisted of two main sections and the first was a talk on Chinese business culture given by CIBL representative Tim Nash and focused on promoting Chinese Business culture. Mr. Nash highlighted and compared the different nuances of business culture between the East and the West and how to maintain and improve business relations with Chinese business people. There was a high level of engagement with this topic, and many attendees found the subject interesting and useful. In the second section CIBL teacher, Ms. Zhang Xiaolin, talked about the language courses available at CIBL, and PwC employees were particularly interested in Chinese business language courses provided by CIBL.

After the talks the audience members energetically took part in Chinese calligraphy, Tai chi, traditional Chinese painting and Chinese paper-cutting activities. Guests left with a better understanding of CIBL's activities and many of them expressed a strong interest in learning Chinese with CIBL or joining future events. The event was a great success with PwC employees showing strong interest in the Chinese language and culture they were able to experience via this event.
