Celebration of Confucius Institutes' Tenth Anniversary Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

8th September 2014 is the day of Mid-autumn Festival in Chinese lunar calendar. As the beginning of a series of celebrations for the 10th anniversary of founding of the Confucius Institutes, CIBL successfully held a celebration on this eventful day. More than 50 people from the London area as well as representatives from relevant LSE departments attended the celebration. The event was opened with a warm speech by Mr. Feng Zhi from the Chinese Embassy, UK. First, he extended holiday greetings to the guests present and then expressed his heartfelt thanks to them for their support and help to CIBL. CIBL associate director, Dr. Kent Deng presided over the event

Mid-Autumn Festival, which started over 2000 years ago, is one of the greatest traditional festivals in China. All the attendants the CIBL tasted the sweetness of moon cakes on this eventful day, experienced the customs and further understood traditional Chinese culture. CIBL provides a platform to promote the communication between academia, business, the media and our students.
