The Fourth London Business Chinese Teacher Training Course was successfully held from the 27th to 29th September 2013 at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The Training Course started with a welcome by Mr QIAO Fenghe from the Chinese Embassy Education Department and Professor LUO Lisheng, China Director of the Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL). At the closing part, Mr. CHEN Tongdu, UK director of Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) and Dr. Kent DENG, director of China in Comparative Perspective Network and Associate Director of CIBL gave a speech and awarded certificates to all the trainees. Dr LU Hong, CIBL Coordinator has chaired the opening and closing ceremony.
Around 30 trainees participated in this course which was composed of three parts: guided research, intensive training and an online learning forum. Trainees were required to do homework and research on Business Chinese teaching in order to get fully prepared for the intensive course beforehand. During the three days intensive course they were able to hear lectures by prominent professors and scholars from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China), Beijing Language and Culture University (Beijing, China), Oxford University, LSE amongst other institutions, and delegates joined the discussions on different topics based on the lectures and presentations.
In order to give long-term on-going support to our trainees, they were invited to join an online learning forum for further communication and to share teaching materials and experience afterwards.
This training course was jointly organized by CIBL, Tsinghua University and Hanban. Since first held in 2010, this event has received positive feedback and wide attention not only from the Britain but also from Europe. As the organizer, CIBL believes that quality is a top priority. By designing the course practically and academically, and selecting trainers and trainees carefully, we endeavour to supply the best Business Chinese Teacher Training Course in UK.
